Alaska Community Action on Toxics

Alaska Community Action on Toxics (ACAT) mission: We believe that everyone has a right to clean air, clean water, and toxic-free food. Driven by a core belief in environmental justice, ACAT empowers communities to eliminate exposure to toxics through collaborative research, shared science, education, organizing, and advocacy. We work at the intersection of environmental justice, reproductive justice, environmental health, Indigenous rights, and human rights. Community organizing and integrative voter engagement are at the heart of all we do. Using Integrated Voter Engagement (IVE) methods, ACAT works diligently to deepen engagement, build leadership, and mobilize people to take action to advance environmental and social justice – using our voices, votes, and collective power to ensure a healthy democracy while holding elected officials accountable for honoring their obligation to eliminate pollution and protect public health.
