Black Women for Wellness is a grassroots non-profit committed to the empowerment, health and well-being of black women and girls. We started as sisterfriends with the Birthing Project in Los Angeles in 1997. We began as a group of women concerned about the health and well-being of our babies. As grandmothers, mothers, aunties, daughters, and sisterfriends, we found we had no choice but to take on the plethora of health issues black women encounter. Now it is a well known non-profit committed to healing, educating, inspiring, and supporting black women, so we may tap our personal power to enhance and improve our health and well being.
